George “Bud” A. LaPointe Jr., 76, died July 27, 2010, at his home after a long period of declining health.

Bud, as he was lovingly known by all, was born in Manchester, on September 23, 1933 to George A. Yvonne A. (Viviers) LaPointe. He was raised in Manchester and lived primarily in Manchester and Bedford, before retiring to his home on Lake Winnisquam in Sanbornton.

Bud was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War.

Bud led an adventurous life as an accomplished jazz musician and played professionally for many years. He loved racing cars and was an avid skier. Later, he worked in real estate before his retirement in 1991.

Bud led an equally active retirement sharing his life-long passions of boating and fishing with his loving wife.

Bud was married to his wife Brenda A. (Mitchell) LaPointe for 18 wonderful years.

Family includes sons Jon R. Rich of Belmont, Seth E. LaPointe of Dover; daughters Johanna Rich of Port Charlotte, FL; Heidi Leone of Needham, MA, Megan LaPointe of Manchester, Emily Hoyt of Manchester, VT, and Molly Schulte of Concord. Bud’s grandchildren include Matthew, Attilia, Paige, Nathaniel, and most recent joy of his life, Lily Mae, to whom he was “Paw”, a Brother , John "Jack" LaPointe and his wife Debra of New Boston,

Bud will forever be remembered by his friends and family for his wonderful wit and his great sense of humor.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St. Manchester. The funeral service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on 79 Clinton St. in Concord at 11am Saturday, July 31st.
