Selma Arlene Mehrman (Richelson), age 79, of Beverly, MA, died July 22, 2010 in Danvers, MA after a short illness.

Selma was born in Ashland, NH on July 22, 1931. Her parents were Louis Richelson and Fredia (Alterman) Richelson of Plymouth, NH.

Selma was a 1953 graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she majored in social work. She had an eclectic career working as a social worker for the House of Seven Gables Settlement House, a store detective for Jordan Marsh Company and a customer services coordinator for New England Life Securities.

She is survived by her husband Robert Mehrman, son Barry Mehrman, daughter-in-law, Ann (Caulfield) Mehrman, grandsons, David Mehrman and Brian Mehrman and sister-in-law, Joan Mehrman.

Services will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 11 AM at Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St, Manchester, NH. Burial will be in Manchester Hebrew Cemetery. The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home in Beverly on Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Selma Mehrman to Boston Cured Cancer Club for Laryngectomees C/O Mike Moffi, Treasure 15 Lakeshore Drive
