Lawrence "Larry" I. White, age 84, of Manchester, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 4, 2010.

Mr. White was born on October 19, 1925 in Boston, MA; the son of the late Samuel and Rebecca (Masters) White. He was raised and educated in Boston and after graduating from High School he enlisted in the Navy. After his service during WWII he enrolled and graduated from Massachusetts College of Art. He married Marcia Green on June 15, 1947 in Providence, RI.
He became a graphic designer and moved to Manchester where he founded Creative 101 which he has owned for 54 years. He also was the founder of Time Data Syndicate, he was a syndicated columnist and astrologer and a published cartoonist. He was a member of the American Federation of Astrology and the National Cartoonist Society. Mr. White loved to pass on his passion and knowledge; he taught at E.W. Poore, NH Art Institute and lectured throughout New England. Many of his students have become professional cartoonists. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and the Brotherhood. His greatest joy was his family; he was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents.

His family includes his wife of 62 years, Marcia White of Manchester; two sons, Mark White and his wife Pat of Hollis, NH, Peter White and his wife Katherine of Hollis, NH; four grandchildren, Aaron, Dean, Madeline, Joe; a brother, Norman and his wife Shelia of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Temple Adath Yeshurun, 152 Prospect St. Manchester. Rabbi Beth D. Davidson will officiate. Burial will follow in Manchester Hebrew Cemetery. The family will be sitting Shiva on Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. and 5:00 -7:00 p.m. There will be a minyan at 6:30 p.m. on all three days. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mr. Whites honor to: Temple Adath Yeshurun, 152 Prospect St. Manchester, NH 03104 or the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
